FTAI OCEAN is a wholly owned subsidiary of FTAI Aviation Ltd (NYSE: FTAI). FTAI Ocean provides vessel-based well intervention, well-enhancement, plug & abandonment and well related subsea services to the offshore Oil & Gas industry. FTAI Ocean designed and developed Well Intervention Tower System to provide world class operational performance providing safe, professional and cost-effective solutions for our clients utilising industry proven equipment and techniques that can carry our Riser and/or Riser-less Well Intervention in up to 1500m of water depths. Subsea Intervention equipment and tooling deployed from DP3 Vessels.
FTAI OCEAN’s Smart Tower System (STS) facilitates safe, flexible and effective well intervention and plug & abandonment operations. The system was specified by FTAI OCEAN and optimises performance by combining proven modular well intervention technology with innovative sub-system design. The STS facilitates riserless and riser-based well intervention operations in water depths of 80 to 1,500 metres, providing an Active Heave Compensated platform for surface pressure equipment, slickline & e-line operations and for the building, operation, and recovery of OWIR and intervention systems. Designed to operate in adverse weather conditions and certified in accordance with DNVGL-OS-E101.
The STS incorporates a dual-level Heave Compensated Platform, which allows easy access to the surface pressure control equipment whilst reducing stresses into the riser. The platform is actuated with a ram rig hoisting system which enables the deployment and recovery of 75ft OWIR joints and subsea pressure control equipment of up to 250-tonnes.
The Ocean Venture is an advanced DP3 vessel with 3,000m2 of deck space, 25 MW of power generation, and MODU notation. To be built and expected delivery in 2028 with an overall length of 157 meters and breadth of 31 meters, the Ocean Venture is equipped with a 250-ton active heave compensating (AHC) crane, a 60-ton Secondary crane, a 7.2m-by-7.2m moonpool, and over 6,000 tons of cargo carrying capacity. In addition, the Ocean Venture is equipped with ROV hangars, a dedicated ROV control room, and two work-class ROV’s rated to 3,000-meter water depth. The Ocean Venture can accommodate up to 150 personnel, including marine crew, and the comfort class accommodation is configured in single and double cabins.
In its well intervention configuration, the Ocean Venture is equipped with a Well Intervention tower system that provides for 250-tons of AHC lifting capacity through the moonpool. The vessel is equipped with a subsea riser-less package and topside handling systems to provide clients with a range of services for their intervention solutions.
